As a staff level developer, I oversee the technical roadmap and provide mentorship for multiple teams. We are collectively responsible for systems critical one of our product offerings

While I try and dedicate most of my time towards current projects and positions, I feel that my work as a freelance developer was, and continues to be, the most important position I have ever held. Most projects that I currently undertake are done as favors to my friends, family, and colleagues. Undertaking these contracts has helped me understand the importance of time management, project management, and hone my skills in all aspects of website creation, including design, development, and marketing. All aspects of my work are self-managed and I take the utmost care to deliver a quality product in a time frame that meets my client's needs and requirements.

As a founding member of the Microsoft Studios Global Publishing Web team I served as a Senior Full Stack Web Developer building both internal and public facing sites. During my time with this team my main focus was developing public facing sites for the game titles that Microsoft Studios releases, working both with the marketing and the game teams to ensure a consistent presence across all our efforts. As a founding member I helped develop team best practices and developed the framework that is used on all sites the team publishes. In addition to working closely with the other members of my team I met and worked with several other teams at Microsoft serving as the point of contact for development on several projects.

As Director of Development I acted as both lead developer and manager for our development team, I contributed to and provided supervision on numerous development projects. These client projects varied greatly and ranged from single page brochure websites to large eCommerce sites and online education. The highlight of my time and effort with the firm was launching School ALERT: Helix Group's flagship software as a service product. School ALERT is a comprehensive school lock-down utility that I helped design, implement, and spearheaded most development aspects. Features that I have directly contributed to for School ALERT include: 3rd Party external hardware integration, internal RESTful API, mobile applications for both Android and iOS, as well as a structured code base built with MVC methodologies to allow for easy future rewriting & expansion.

My time with VillageOnCall was spent migrating their existing website to WordPress and providing support for their new system.

My time spent with Consider: Open was my first step into the arena of professional web development and my introduction to PHP frameworks. It was during my employment with the firm that I began to understand the value (and pitfalls) of working with existing PHP based software and libraries. The majority of my projects included basic web integration and full design and implementation of WordPress sites for private companies and individuals. My work with Consider: Open helped to solidify my career goals as a professional developer and better appreciate the flexibility and creative process necessary for higher-end web and application development.
