I was heavily involved in the setting up of a NAMAS (UKAS) accredited laboratory for the testing of Respiratory Protective Products for which I was the 'Head of Laboratory' and Quality Manager. The laboratory conducted internal R & D testing, particularly for powered respiratory products as well as internal and external NAMAS/UKAS testing.Sat on I.L.E.E. - a European committee for the harmonisation of laboratory test methods throughout Europe.Developed a number of specialist systems such as a Fresh Air Breathing system for British gas and a nuclear specification powered hood system for the Atomic Weapons Establishment. Managed the development of a number of major new high budget projects such as the Magnum Powered Respirator and the Kombat Half Masks. I was also active in gaining ISO-9001 for management of product design using a computer database system developed by myself.I also managed the installation of a new PC network system to replace the company's existing mainframe system and was the system administrator for the Novel Network system.
