In 2019 I had the opportunity to become Head of the Advisory & Restructuring team at Colliers, which provides real estate restructuring, turnaround and insolvency services to lenders, investors, business management teams and practitioners across all UK property sectors.We specialise in providing effective, practical solutions to complex situations. My role involved advising on asset management and realisation strategies, coordinating the input of valuation, management and agency services to execute the preferred strategy through to completion.

Lambert Smith Hampton is a commercial property consultancy with a network of offices across the UK and Ireland.I joined LSH in 2010, working within the Property Asset Management team in Nottingham and the Central Region Recoveries team based in Birmingham. My roles involved providing advice to landlord clients on lease events (including rent reviews, renewals and breaks) and to banks and Insolvency Practitioners in relation to distressed property and corporate recovery.I worked closely with a number of LPA Receivers as case manager of several Receivership appointments, providing valuation and strategy advice to lenders along with careful asset management and disposal.

For 2 years while finishing university, I co-ran a market stall selling fruit and vegetables jointly with a close friend. Stock was purchased wholesale in Nottingham and sold from our stall in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. This experience was invaluable, encompassing several basic but crucial skills including sales, interpersonal skills, time and business management.

University placement at DTZ Prague. As part of the Valuation team, I prepared investment valuations and development appraisals, along with supporting written reports, in respect of properties in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.This experience enabled me to develop my understanding of the factors affecting property valuation and the importance of quality research, justification and report writing. I was also able to develop a detailed knowledge of valuation software and successfully agreed a number of instructions and fees.
