A strong interest in innovation-enabled business sustainability as a key driver for growth, giving leaders the opportunity to move their businesses from 'best in the world' to 'best for the world'.After 9 years as IVCC’s Chief Executive Officer, I have decided to retire, stepping down from my role once the IVCC Board of Trustees has completed its search for my successor and an appropriate transition period, if required, is completed. IVCC has grown from a small team of seven with an annual grant income of $10m from a single funder to a full-service Product Development Partnership supported by multiple key funders and > 30 full-time staff, covering product development and market shaping initiatives across sub-Saharan Africa and the Indo-Pacific region. We have secured over $300 million of grant income to further vector control innovation and malaria eradication. I am immensely proud of what the IVCC team has achieved.I feel honoured and privileged to have been trusted with an incredible late career opportunity to put my years of industry training in science and business to such a potentially important use. I have enjoyed working with some amazing people and organizations, from NGOs, donors and industry partners, along the way. Together with the continued support of all our partners, IVCC will continue to develop, deliver and manage a portfolio of innovative vector control tools and market shaping interventions, enabling lifesaving products to be delivered at pace and scale to those that need them most. I would like to thank all my colleagues at IVCC and our partners and other stakeholders across the vector control and public health communities who have helped IVCC play such a pivotal role in the global battle to eradicate malaria.I believe IVCC's future is secure as we continue to deliver on our mission, with a great team of experts in place to carry on the work. We have operated in a very robust manner throughout Covid and very few programs were significantly impacted, demonstrating we are working in an integrated and matrixed way which is essential when we are still a small team but with big goals.
