Responsible for ensuring quality care, program development, staff development, and strategic planning of 10-bed acute inpatient psychiatric facility.Manage day-to-day operations on the Behavioral Health Services unit. Attend Care & Treatment hearings for Involuntary Psychiatric Hospital Commitments.Complete psychiatric evaluation with clients throughout the hospital (inpatient, ER, medical floor) and link to appropriate level of care.Provide individual and group therapy to diverse population of adolescents and adults in both an outpatient and inpatient setting. Demonstrate courtesy and respect in all relationships, including interdisciplinary teams, county government, and interagency aspects.Provide supervision to staff of 12 therapists, nurses, and counseling student interns.

Collaborate with Dr. Dana Lizardi & Dr. Robin Gearing on issues surrounding LGBT population and suicide.

• Maintained a full caseload of individual therapy clients, aged 19-29, with a history of depression and/or anxiety.• Provided bi-weekly, individual psychodynamic psychotherapy, with a concentration on counseling, cognitive restructuring, and behavior modification.• Assessed with clinical director potential therapeutic matches between therapists and clients during clinical intake evaluations.• Co-organized an international clinical symposium with 160 participants & 37 presenters, co-sponsored by New York State Department of Health $60,000 grant.• Collaborated with organizing committee to plan scope and format of symposium as well as to review administrative procedures and progress of symposium.• Recruited and supervised volunteer staff of 15 required for symposium proceedings.• Forged clinical relationships with surrounding mental health and social justice non-profit organizations to provide collaborative efforts in the future.
