Teaching Psychology, Sociology and Criminology (Access to HE, Key stage 5, Accredited by Ascentis).Activities include:-Independently preparing and delivering engaging lessons.-Interviewing and selecting prospective candidates for the course.-Presenting at induction sessions and taster days.-Assessing student work and providing constructive written feedback.-Proof reading written work for spelling punctuation and grammar, and encouraging a high standard of literacy.-Meeting with, negotiating course content, and maintaining strong relationships with external moderators.-Promoting professional standards in the classroom, ensuring punctuality and attendance of classes. -Expanding subject knowledge through continuous independent study.-Promoting the Access to HE course during college open days and public facing events.-Staff training and development, delivering training sessions for teaching staff on the use of IT and Google Apps in the classroom. -Online engagement and social media, promoting the Access to HE course on Google+ through public facing posts and original content generation. -Moderating and curating Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) using Google Apps.-Managing VLE communities on Google+ and encouraging student participation with communities.-Providing technical support and IT troubleshooting for students during lessons.-Planning lessons to meet the needs of a diverse range of students.-Providing Pastoral Support to students..Summary: Making things fun, proof-reading essays, giving feedback, breaking ideas down, showing how to write an introduction that relates directly to the question, encouraging creativity, providing support, listening.
