I am a 'Digital Commerce Fundamentalist' specializing in assisting and guiding companies and institutions across the 'digital divide' into the realm of 'phygital'.I have over 30 years of experience across an array of skills and services ranging from new business development, project management, product development, digital strategy, marketing and media production, renewable energy and facilities management.In this time I've had the pleasure of enabling and being at the core of some 'big win' challenges for various blue-chips firms. To a name a few - I was at the helm of migrating the Specialty Stores group (Mr Price, Miladys, The Hub, Mr Price Home) into the realm of digital product design and workflow management. I then spearheaded Mr Price into broadcast Television advertising using the latest digital editing and 2D/3D production technologies. Mr Price is a leading South Africa Fashion Retailer and part of a listed company. I was then commissioned by Maslow Technologies to develop their brand strategy for a revolutionary digital content streaming device. Maslow successfully launched this device into the retail sector and on the back of this they have grown into a leading electronic device and TV manufacturer under the Skyworth label for the MEA region. I am now consulting for both Maslow and Skyworth globally on multiple product developments.In 2012 I joined a small yet agile tech firm whereon we jointly won a tender to be the ecommerce and digital partner to the Mass Discounters Group (now a subsidiary of Walmart). The project entailed the development and launch of the Dion Wired and Game online stores. On the success of this we gained venture capital and grew the company into a full-suite eCommerce agency under the banner of Bitfoundry. Through our investors we became a 'sister' company to Zapper (leading mobile payment company in South Africa and Africa) and this launched me into the Fintech space. At this time we also acquired an IoT Electronics engineering firm called CheckIT systems which specializes in the 'Integration of Things' across multiple commercial and industry IoT sectors. These services being machine automation, facilities management, renewable energy solutions and environmental monitoring.My higher educational background in Contemporary Communication and Media studies together with the learnings of 'Logic' from a Philosophy degree has stood me well in dealing with diverse and challenging digital and social commerce projects aligned with the ever-evolving technology evolution.
