Director Of Advertising Product ManagementNavteq And Nokia Mar 2007 - Oct 2011At Navteq, I built a new product line and business around mobile location-based advertising, taking what became LocationPoint Advertising (LPA) from concept to launch and then building a global network of LPA affiliates. This introduced an entirely new business model into Navteq in the form of ad-supported map licenses, which became a key strategic focus for the company. [Nokia ultimately acquired Navteq, and this product was integrated into Nokia's mobile advertising.]To support the LPA business, I built a team of product managers and affiliate support staff who worked with customers such as Nokia, Garmin, Loopt, and Navigon as well as numerous RTB Networks, Wireless Operators and Automotive Tier1s. We built the LPA network to over 1B monthly ad requests across North America and Europe.I was heavily involved in all aspects of this line of business, including driving business and product strategy, creating ad platform products, doing deals with carriers, device manufacturers and publishers and selling the advertising service into large brand advertisers and agencies.

Vice President Of Product ManagementNavteq And Nokia Nov 2004 - Mar 2007At Traffic.com, I led the development, launch and GTM for a broad suite of both Consumer and B2B services and built a Product Management organization to manage and support these products through the company's transition form startup to IPO to eventual acquisition. The key B2C service was the Traffic.com website, which I grew from its infancy to reach over 2M monthly uniques and 700,000 registered users and which enabled expansion of Traffic.com's ad sales into online. The core website was complemented by a cross-platform suite of mobile products across Mobile Web, Voice (IVR) and J2ME platforms which were launched on Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T and other carriers.Using content gathered from the Traffic.com roadside sensor network, plus probe data captured from GPS-enabled vehicles, I also launched a suite of B2B feeds and APIs to deliver real-time and predictive traffic information to a wide range of clients including Microsoft, Garmin, Comcast, AOL, OnStar and many others. These B2B products became a key source of revenue and distribution and were a key driver of the acquisition of Traffic.com by NAVTEQ. Across both the Consumer and B2B businesses, I was actively involved in sales, business development and partnerships relating to taking these products to market.
