Preceding my journey into the wonderful world of science, I completed half my law and business degree. During this time I was a full-time student, a Justin Crosby Law Memorial scholarship recipient, student mentor, Law Students' Association director, full-time legal administrator, and a community volunteer for the Suncoast Community Legal Service and the Queensland Statewide Tenant Advice and Referral Service.Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was forced to retire my commitments to support and comfort my immediate family. Over the course of a year I had a moment to re-evaluate my goals and ambitions. Following my heart, I pivoted into UniSC's Bachelor of Science program, embracing my love for the sciences. In additon to completing an undergraduate double special research project (Assessing Trangenerational Gene Editing Capacity for Enhancing Aquaculture Productivity in Decapod Crustaceans) and honours degree (A Novel Method for RNA Interference in Cherax Quadricarinatus), I am also a member of Associate Professor Tomer Ventura's crustacean team, exploring RNA interference and CRISPR technologies within UniSC's PhD Program.It is my goal to complete a PhD with a focus on CRISPR gene editing in aquaculture. It is my dream to develop a commercial product, provide a significant contribution to my field, and pursue a career in research.
