My role at Scandia involved managing multiple new-build housing projects for a prestigious timber frame manufacturer / developer covering sites nationally and internationally.Reporting directly to the Managing Director, my responsibilities included managing all site activities from pre-start consultation through to completion, including the following:• Full engagement with all manufacturing stages and components through to completed shell erection including steel fabrication, Glulam beams, open timber panels, and various truss types.• Logistical planning of deliveries both nationally and internationally. • Managing installation teams and liaising with all aspects of the supply chain. • Ensure projects are completed on time and in accordance with agreed programme of work. • Working with a team of designers, estimators and engineers to achieve a value engineered superior product. • Monitoring installation labour and preliminary costs are in line with estimated costs. • Communicating all site issues back to design/ production teams to streamline delivery process.• Acting as main interface with clients/self-build customers during the build. • CPCS Appointed Person - Responsible for all lifting operations and producing associated lift plan documentation/method statements. • Producing health and safety documentation and ensuring health and safety is adhered to on site.- Specifying project objectives and plans including delineation of scope, budgeting, scheduling, setting performance requirements, and selecting project participants.- Maximizing the resource efficiency through procurement of labor, materials and equipment.- Implementing various operations through proper coordination and control of planning, design, estimating, contracting and construction in the entire process.- Developing effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts.A high level of self-management is essential and I apply a personable approach on every project I work on.

-Home based but operating within a wide geographical area.-Position involved taking responsibility for the inspection of new build homes, construction and/or conversion projects through Key Stage visits of the build.-Enforcing Government Legislation through Building Regulations and increasing Industry Standards through NHBC guidance and procedures.-Reporting of non compliant building control items, specification and technical details to other departments and members within the NHBC business and external clients-High standard of Interpersonal skills are essential in dealing with all levels of management/clients/subcontractors-Having up to 100 sites under inspection at any one time with a variation of projects covering different construction methods i.e Timber frame, traditional, steel frame etc-Assessing sites for NHBC 'Pride in the Job' an industry recognised quality campaign.-Checking and reporting on the technical competence of builders applying for their registration and assessing applications for self build/conversion projects.-Regular training on new construction techniques -Key time management to achieve KPI's in accordance with NHBC requirements on efficiency and inspection level standards-NHBC I.T Super-user to test prototype I.T systems before full replacement hardware programme was undertaken-Auditing of Building Regulation Breaches

- Procure 21 NEC3 Option C - working on a Single Sex Ward Provision / Refurbishment including upgrades to medical gas & life support systems, from planning to completion (£2.1M). - End of Life Refurbishment Works including operational mortuary, CCU & ACU units, full clinical hygiene restrictions imposed, this meant strictly controlled access to restricted areas for materials & trades, from planning to completion stages. - 5 Year Minor Works Contract which involved the erection of temporary buildings whilst works were undertaken, relocation of hospital departments and M&E maintenance works on main services throughout the hospital building. - Refurbishment of Accident & Emergency multiple bed bays - this was completed out of hours with a fully operational A&E department throughout the works.-Vector Park was the latest addition to SEGRO’s theLHR.community, offering 17 new production/distribution units ranging in size from 2,531 to 16,796 sq ft.

Gatwick Airport-Inter Terminal Shuttle MTHW & CHW pipework within landside restricted area, replacement of prefabricated concrete service trenches and working around live terminal services (£300k). -Baggage Handling Area 9 Refurbishment - this work was undertaken at airside within the fully restricted area. Works included laying of densiphalt with new line markings and crash barriers. A strict permit to work system was enforced in compliance with BAA's protocol.8 Months Assistant Site Manager Role, Winston Way Primary School (£8 M)-Brand new school building is one of two Ilford 'extended schools' constructed. Works included steel and RC frame construction, a modern contemporary design was incorporated with sustainable features including both intensive and extensive green roofs (sedum), photovoltaic arrays, and rainwater harvesting system. -Physical Logistics of the site were extremely limited meaning a restricted materials supply had to be implemented and controlled throughout construction-Extensive design changes were encountered throughout by the Client (London Borough of Redbridge) dealt with through regular site meetings and liaison of subcontractors-Working in a sensitive, live school environment whilst construction works were completed in 2 phases. Full segregation and safety of children/public was first priority-This project was a Bronze Award Winner for Considerate Constructors Scheme.
