I'm the co-chair of the Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Group and the Litigation Finance and Alternative Funding Group, and a Member of the Litigation Group. Stevens & Lee is a full service law firm with 15 offices throughout the northeastern United States. My office is in midtown Manhattan, but our bankruptcy lawyers and litigators also cover Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.After spending 18 1/2 years at a bankruptcy boutique, I joined Stevens & Lee in January 2005 and continued building my practice in restructuring and commercial litigation. My restructuring practice primarily consists of representing debtors and lenders. I also regularly represent trustees, buyers of distressed securities and distressed assets, investors, suppliers, directors and executives. I have significant experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in insolvency and other commercial litigation including claims involving preferences, fraudulent transfers, breach of fiduciary duty, wrongful redemption, declaration of illegal dividends, equitable subordination, recharacterization, fraud and veil-piercing.I have published articles on a number of hot and emerging insolvency law issues including make-whole premiums, distressed M&A, prepacks, “gifting” plans, friendly foreclosures and other alternatives to chapter 11, the extend and pretend phenomenon, restructuring support agreements, the WARN Act, bankruptcy litigation, valuation, swaps and other derivatives, municipal bankruptcies, dividend recaps, second lien lending, hybrid debt-equity securities, hedge funds, claims trading, rights offerings, pitfalls under the 2005 amendments to chapter 11, lender liability and substantive consolidation.
