Zendesk's cloud footprint is immense. In order to effectively secure the entirety of Zendesk's platform, Foundation Secure has been stood up to engineer solutions that bridge and automate security solutions between Engineering teams and the Security organization itself.My team is largely responsible for the AWS account management, audit logging, compliance controls around deployments, and--for lack of a better term--ownership of Zendesk's AWS presence and security controls.

After completing a 6-year commitment with the United States Marine Corps Reserve, I decided to change gears a bit and join the Army Reserve in an Engineering Company which specializes in the 'vertical' specialties (electrician, plumber, carpenter, mason, etc.).I am a team leader for a group of fine gentleman and women. I provided primary support for an energy market trading platform. I provided feature additions, integrations with metric systems, and facilitated 24/7 on-call support for daily and real-time bidding in the Midwest Independent System Operator (MISO) market territory.

I work in Integration Services, mainly dealing with EAI development. My primary software tool includes the Sun Java CAPS ESB software, although I have been tasked with java web development from time-to-time.Frequently deal with SQL, Java, and Solaris administration.

I worked as an intern for about a month and then was offered a full-time position in the company. Thus explains the short timeframe.

After deploying to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, my assigned-to unit was disbanded as part of President George W. Bush's realignment of forces. This resulted in my unit being closed, and my having to change units to 4th Field Maintenance Battalion in Rock Island, IL.This unit--having no direct need for a Field Radio Operator (0621)--I took the opportunity to change paths and reclassify as a 0151 - Unit Administrator.This position entitled me to a couple new responsibilities, namely maintaining unit records for my unit. I was also tapped for a couple training events where I was in charge of maintaining records for several hundred Marines Pre-Deployment required training. Recording these records required maintaining a team of Marines in my charge to account, tally, organize and collect information on every Marine.
