A general day at work involves setting up lights, camera operating, and helping organize celebrity and industry Q&A events at the NYFA Theater and various theaters and stages on the Warner Bros. & Universal lots. The job also entails teaching and assisting middle school, high school, and college level students in the art and processes of both film and digital filmmaking acquisitions. I’m also responsible for both equipment and the safety of those using it.

Main duties involved working under the Script Coordinator and Script Supervisor to maintain organization, notes, revisions, deliveries, and drafting of Sesame Street-related scripts. On a few occasions I filled in for the Script Coordinator and would perform her duties — sitting in on writer meetings, making formatting updates and revisions on Final Draft, and executing tasks and deliveries to other interns. Other tasks included assisting Media Content with setup and shooting for various shorts and projects, assisting development/executive producers, coordinators, department heads, and talent with every day tasks, organization, input, meetings, lunch orders, special assignments, and creating a new Muppet Bible from scratch using Photoshop. I also helped organize media and server files for editors and graphic designers.

Job entailed teaching lessons on Final Cut Studio, GarageBand and other programs to ages ranged 7-70. Other aspects include daily communication, organization, customer service, problem solving, using inventory practices and software, loading and unloading freight, and managing aspects of the floor and warehouse. We had mandatory Apple training sessions on all new products, software, and hardware. Because of this I have a more than intermediate knowledge of most things Apple, can trouble shoot computers and mobile devices, and know how to repair things to a small degree as well.

Writing tutor duties included official State of Massachusetts tutor training, enriching students study habits and work processes, one on one research and review with the student, and providing solutions for better academic achievement and performance. Courses tutored ranged from basic English courses such as Writing I to intermediate nursing degree courses like Anatomy and Physiology II.
