Over the span of my scientific career, I've studied nucleic acids in fields ranging from chemical biology to bioinformatics to tackle interesting biological questions in novel ways. My most recent independent research project studied the ways that RNAs can regulate transcription factors through direct binding, which required the use of biochemical and computational techniques. Through this project, I discovered my passion for computational biology and I'm excited to hone those skills to perform cutting-edge analyses that can be informed by my interdisciplinary background. Afterwards, I was able to further hone my computational and analytical skills at Artisan Bio. There, I worked in cross-functional teams to develop CRISPR editing detection assays using both short- and long-read sequencing techniques and novel bioinformatics pipelines.
