Nick has been in the addiction treatment field for over 30 years. He began his career as a counselor at a therapeutic community on the Lower East Side and today is the Executive Director and managing partner of Inter-Care, a premier, outpatient substance abuse treatment agency in New York City. He is also the Founder and Clinical Director for Chat2Recovery, an online substance abuse treatment program; one of the first of its kind. Nick is a Certified Cyber Facilitator. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor of the Silver School of Social Work at NYU teaching in the Post-Master's Certificate Program in Addiction Studies. Nick is sought after by the treatment community as a trainer and is recognized for his seminars on treating substance use disorders. In 2008, he received a Special Recognition Award from the Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology. In 2009, he was honored as the Addiction Professional of the Year by the Caron Foundation's annual awards event in New York. He has written 2 books on treatment; the well received "Wiley's Concise Guide to Mental Health: Substance Use Disorders" and his newest book, "Living with Alcoholism and Drug Addiction: The Teen Edition."Nick is known as an innovator and leader to his colleagues, a mentor to his staff and interns, a teacher to his students, a therapist to his patients: a man whose commitment and dedication has made a huge contribution to the addiction field.
