Thesis Work:Worked on a data analysis pipeline to perform analyses on large particle physics data samples. I studied the longitudinal double-spin asymmetry of jets and dijets at STAR using the Run 15 data sample. The analysis involved detailed quality assurance and sensitivity analyses using Monte Carlo samples to quantify the systematic uncertainty in my analysis. I reported progress regularly to various working groups, and I have shown the final results at many domestic and international conferences.The paper containing the results of the analysis was published as an Editor's Suggestion in the American Physical Society's journal Physical Review D.From 2018 to 2021 I served as the Electromagnetic Calorimeter Software Co-Coordinator for the STAR Collaboration. In this role I have coordinated and chaired meetings to discuss calibration efforts of STAR's calorimeter systems. I maintained automation scripts that monitor calorimeter data and subsequently update relevant database files and webpages. I also performed regular quality assurance of the calorimeters. I also performed the calibration of STAR's Barrel Electromagnetic Calorimeter for the 2015 data sample. In the process I implemented the solution to a longstanding issue, which resolved the difference in two data samples (Average 3% difference reduced to less than 0.06%), allowing them to be used together for the calibration to increase accuracy and precision. The resulting calibration had a systematic uncertainty 40% lower than previous calibrations.As part of the ATHENA collaboration, I helped in designing tracking detector concepts for the upcoming Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). I implemented tracking detector designs in a fast simulation framework, produced and analyzed simulations to test the performance of detector designs and to aid in designing optimal configurations to meet the requirements to achieve the physics goals of the EIC.

My duties involved taking measurements and making spreadsheets to analyze data related to interconnect performance.I automated most of this work by developing scripts to do the bulk of the data processing using VBA. The script would search the master excel sheet for unprocessed samples, find the data file, identify the type of sample, extract the data to an excel workbook, and create the appropriate histograms, and save the output, and then update the master sheet to mark the data sample as processed.I taught other employees how to use the tools I made to continue the data processing once I left.
