Nick is an experienced consultant with over 9 years in cyber security, focusing primarily on customer facing professional services that include: risk/maturity assessments, gap analysis, purple teaming/tabletop exercises, and developing security related policies and procedures. Additional knowledge spans multiple disciplines including Risk Management, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, Computer & Digital Forensics, Malware Analysis, and Content Engineering.Nick works for NetWitness's Professional Services - Cyber Defense team. In this capacity, Nick is responsible for developing strategic NetWitness service offerings and carrying out professional services engagements with Customers. The service offerings include assessments, policy/procedure development, tabletop exercises (TTX), CARE exercise (purple team meets TTX), and best practice recommendations.Previously, Nick worked for Pondurance as a Senior Security Consultant. In this current role, Nick works as an advisor, assessor, detailed tester, and project manager for engagements with customers in the healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, education, technology, and retail industries. The subjects of these engagements include HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST, and CMMC. Previously, Nick worked for RSA’s Advanced Cyber Defense Practice – Americas. In this capacity, Nick provided strategic guidance and best practice recommendations in the areas of incident response, security content engineering, threat intelligence, and advanced analysis for fortune 500 companies. Nick was responsible for professional services engagements for security maturity assessments, use case development, security tool optimization, and SOC program development. Additionally, Nick provided support to RSA's ACD incident response team.Nick has a semi-technical background with a long-term residency in Dell’s (formally EMC's) Critical Incident Response Center; duties included analyzing and remediating potential security incidents and performing forensic investigations. Prior to RSA, Nick was a Digital Forensic Examiner for The Senator Patrick Leahy Center for Digital Investigations, providing expertise on Vermont State investigations, private investigations, eDiscovery, data recovery, and research & development of digital forensic tools and technologies.
