Buzz Channel grew out of an idea that getting 500 people into a room to give you insight to help make a decision was possible electronically without inconveniencing busy humans!I founded, conceptualized, coded and built the business with my long time business partner and co-founder Mary Vance. We had a management team in place from 2014 and sold the business in 2021.Key Achievements: We were first to market with a dedicated NZ community to facilitate quick turn around research. Pioneers of on-line research in NZ. 13th in the Deloitte NZ Fast 50 and Asia Pacific Fast 500.

iLobby was a technology platform that allowed clients to fill out a petition and electronically send it to chosen targets. We had great success with some high profile campaigns for Leukaemia & Blood Foundation and the Genetically Modified debate that was taking place in NZ. With the latter, we sent over 40,000 petitions to the Prime Minister of NZ which was considered disruptive technology at the time.iLobby was difficult to commercialise, but the technology became part of the early Buzz Channel business.

Worked across global business units (London | New York | Tokyo | Sydney) project managing and developing web applications. Each business unit had differing requirements and our team would build solutions to enable them to communicate across both the 50,000 employees as well as with their clients. Key skills learnt/achievements: Ability to look at a clients specific needs and turn it into a solution; understanding how to deliver across different political landscapes globally. Most importantly, learnt to be a spectacular programmer!Upon returning to NZ, I set up a business building applications for diverse clients from Life Sciences Network, World Bank, through most of the mainstream advertising agencies and a number of law firms until I started iLobby.
