Nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating awareness of and appreciation for craft beer in South Carolina.- Helped organize the inaugural Soda City Suds Week in Columbia (March 21-28, 2015). Aided in fundraising, event planning and scheduling, and oversaw all operations of the week itself.

- Oversaw the online presence of The McKay Firm, including acting as editor for its blog, The McKay Legal Pad.- Assisted in all public relations matters for the City of Cayce and the City of Camden, including social media outreach, event planning and promotion, graphic design, etc.- Maintained robust and engaging social media presence for all clients through Facebook, Twitter and so on.- Created and implemented creative promotions for clients and events through newsletters, traditional and new media outreach and more.

- Covered state politics and metro and military news for Sumter County and Shaw Air Force Base.- Maintained and regularly updated the newspaper’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter).- Three-time S.C. Press Association award winner, including first place statewide for enterprise reporting in 2011 for extensive coverage of the state’s Voter ID law.

- Worked as a general assignment staff writer and covered numerous beats, including government, education, business, crime, sports and health.- Worked as paper’s webmaster, helping it evolve from a weekly publication into a 24/7 news source.- Responsible for shooting and editing photos and video, and editing stories from other reporters.

- Responsible for coverage of all local government operations and community development news in Richland County, including extensive coverage of fiscal year 2009-10 budget cycle.- Produced general assignment pieces focusing primarily on civic organizations and the environment.

- Oversaw day-to-day operations of a 14-person newsroom, ran daily budget meetings and helped organize print and Web content for student-run newspaper.- Doubled as reporter and editor responsible for producing story ideas and stories, shooting and editing photographs and videos, creating graphics for print and Web, and page layout and design.

I worked as an unpaid, for-credit intern for the paper. During my time there, I mainly worked on articles for the Metro and Neighbors sections. I also worked with the cops reporters, online and breaking news reporters, and helped out with various work around the newsroom.

I was responsible for covering stories for Columbia's largest free alternative weekly paper. I reported on issues concerning state government, non-profit organization, and community and local events.

My first position writing for a major newspaper. Worked directly with my editor learning how to navigate the world of a professional paper and understanding the news process. Had three feature articles published on the front page of the weekly Neighbors section.
