Responsible for managing the coral gene bank aquaculture facility at Mote Aquaculture Research Park.

• Monitor health of aquarium organisms in-house, including corals, invertebrates and fish, and help diagnose sick/deceased fish to aid in prophylactic system treatments/medications. • Perform routine maintenance and monitoring of aquarium equipment in the facility.• Perform weekly/monthly maintenance on personal aquarium systems for our clients.• Educate local school groups, grades 5 – 12, on topics related to marine biology and aquaponics, including marine invertebrates, vertebrates, plant biology, and coral biology.

Used Chapters 18-18, 18-20, and 18-21, Florida Administrative Code and Sections 253 and 258, Florida Statute to bring unleased docking facilities along the Miami River under a sovereign submerged land lease.Assisted Environmental Resource Permitting and Compliance staff during site visits for wetland related projects.Participated in several pre-application and pre-construction meetings and was able to learn the process of applying for and constructing under an Environmental Resource Permit.Tested for water quality violations in Lake Worth Lagoon using a turbidity meter and determined how to apply Chapter 62-302, Florida Statute to determine compliance with water quality standards.Assisted in the instruction of a diver safety course for the FDEP Dive Team.
