EPCM Project Manager for a Multidisciplinary Chemical Storage project in Rustenburg South Africafor RBMR. The project scope involved designing, procuring, constructing, and commissioning amultiproduct chemical storage and offloading facility to feed the Base Metals Refinery. As ProjectManager, responsible for leading a team of engineers, construction supervisors, commercial managers,and procurement specialists to deliver the project from Feasibility through to Commissioning andHandover. The project introduced novel materials of construction for civil corrosion protection andrequired the implementation of modern automation and state-of-the-art equipment.

Following the demerger between Aurecon and Zutari, Nick continued as the Energy and Industrial Global Design Centre Leader. In this role, overseeing the Energy, Petrochemical, Resources, and Manufacturing markets, he was accountable for total engineering delivery to clients in Australasia. His team operated in the Oil and Gas, Mining, Manufacturing, and Energy sectors, delivering multidisciplinary engineering services. We provided Civil/Structural, HV Electrical, Bulk Materials Handling, Mechanical, and Piping Engineering Services on projects of varying scales. Nick led and was accountable for the project delivery of 80 staff.

The team has delivered Civil/Structural, HV Electrical, Bulk Materials Handling, Mechanical, and Piping Engineering Services on small to large projects scaling up and down as required. Personally led and was accountable for the project delivery of 70 staff.

Nick led an excellent group of multidisciplinary engineering and project management teams on Industrial, Oil and Gas, and Mining Infrastructure projects. In addition to this, he grew an industrial civil-structural discipline group to a sustainable business within 2 years. Nick was directly and partially responsible for generating $4 million per annum in group revenue and was furthermore accountable for the group's profitability.Some project highlights include:Engineering delivery and construction supervision of a new $20 million Heavy Haul Vehicle Workshop for a major coal miner.Engineering Management of a $100 million Bulk fuel storage terminal study.

South Africa

Nick was contracted to be civil discipline lead on a new iron ore materials handling project in Sierra Leone. Unfortunately the project was cancelled after only 3 weeks, hence his short stay at the company.

Sandton

Nick was employed to lead the Civil-Structural engineering effort on multidisciplinary process plant and materials handling projects. These projects ranged from Greenfield expansion studies to brownfield expansion site work. These projects were in multiple geographies including South Africa, the DRC, Sierra Leone, Madagascar, and the UAE. He was required to fill in for the Unit Manager for departmental matters involving budgeting, resource loading, and other general administration. Projects included the Roan Tailings Reclamation remediation copper plant in the DRC, Anglo Gold Ashanti Uranium extrication plant in South Africa, and Sasol Nitro fertilizer plant in Secunda.

Nick was responsible for the designing and leading the Civil-Structural Engineering Effort on Hydrocarbon Process Plant projects. Some project highlights include the Sasol Secunda Growth Program Oxygen Train Cooling Water Project and Sasol FTWEP Syngas Process Unit Project

Nick was contracted to work as a Chief Civil Engineer, responsible for the production and delivery of all structural and civil deliverables for Minerals processing and materials handling projects. Some project highlights included Petra Diamonds DMS plant Tanzania and Everest Platinum Mine Conveyor expansion.

Nick was employed to work as a Civil Structural engineer on small to medium-sized (up to $20million) projects. Some project highlights included Mont Blanc Financial Services Headquarters, Johannesburg,Heineken Brewery, Meyerton
