I am an underwriter in the Commercial Insurance casualty group with Chubb, underwriting both General Liability and Excess/Umbrella. I primarily specialize in products liability for severe products risks as well as loss sensitive GL business. I graduated from Illinois State University with a double major in Risk Management & Insurance and Finance at the Katie School of Insurance. At ISU I served as the president of Gamma Iota sigma for two years, overseeing twelve executive board members to ensure that the organization was operating efficiently, planning a calendar of over 40 events per semester, as well as serving as the medium between the members and the Katie School. During my time at ISU I was also on the Finance, Insurance, and Law Advisory Board as a voting member.My junior year of college I spent a month in the Lloyd's of London market in the UK as an intern through the Katie School. Here I was able to spend time with 11 different syndicates and 3 different brokerages to see how the Lloyd's market operates. Upon return to the US I was an intern with the binding authority team at RT Specialty in Chicago, where I had exposure to property, casualty, excess casualty, and inland marine risks. My sophomore year of college I interned with M3 Insurance, a regional brokerage based in Madison, Wisconsin specializing in Property and Casualty and Employee Benefits. Here I was able to rotate through the P&C, Employee Benefits, and Risk Management departments. I was also able to see both the sales and service sides of the business.
