Nick has worked in grocery store settings for over four years. He has acquired many useful skills including: how to interact with customers, handle the exchange of money, and exhibit professionalism in the work place. Nick has been doing volunteer work for the past several years. He has volunteered as a security guard for on campus concerts. Nick went to Belize with Mount Vernon Nazarene University to take a course and volunteered by helping set up WI-FI and repair computers. He has been involved with Freshman by becoming a small group leader.Nick has an interest in computers and has wondered how technology worked and how we are able to connect to the internet. He is currently a Jr. at Mount Vernon Nazarene University pursuing a degree in Computer Systems and Network Engineer.Coursework: Software & Systems Engineering, Computer Science 1 and 2, Computer & Info Security, Computer Networks & Telecom, Data Structures & Algorithm, Database Management Systems, Multimedia Programming.Senior Project: Developed cooperative network of independently programed virtual machines. The virtual machines contained implementations of Apache, Gluster, PHP, and SQL databases. Constructing the network required setting MAC addresses, static and dynamic IP addresses, configuring security, firewalls, routers and switches, creating VLANs, and configuring trunk ports using spamming trees.
