I worked on transactional teams in the GTLA Real Estate group for deals including:-Lenders counsel on a non-performing hotel loan workout-Buyer’s counsel on the acquisition of a portfolio of ground-leased solar energy generation facilities in various stages of development, from pre-ground breaking through operating-Lenders counsel on the purchase of nearly $1bn portfolio of suburban apartment complexesI also performed a variety of litigation tasks:-research for and preparation of memos in support of—or opposition to—motions to dismiss or for summary judgment-document review for responsiveness and privilege

I investigate potential acquisition targets. Specifically, I provide initial feedback on properties or portfolios that have not yet gone under contract, and subsequently perform detailed due diligence reviews of the properties we are under contract to acquire. The goal of the process is to produce a comprehensive examination of the legal, physical, financial and market risks associated with the subject properties, and thereby to ensure that our funds will produce adequae cash on an ongoing basis to meet their required dividend payments, as well as produce an equity multiple of greater than "1x" upon each fund's eventual liquidity event.As part of the investigative process, I analyze market data from 3rd party providers, such as Costar, Real Capital Analytics, Neilsen Claritas, the Census Bureau and others, property specific data produced by the seller, and comparable property data produced by our in-house property management division as well as various brokers and other contacts in the real estate community.Based on the information gathered during the investigative process, I perform financial analyses using industry-standard tools, including Argus and Excel, to quantify the impact on investment returns.My work is used by senior fund management, including the investment committee, to guide investment decisions on behalf of our funds.
