Intern in the interpretative division onsite at Oakland and Magnolia Plantations for 400 hours with an additional 400 hour internship extension (Jan 2020-Sept 2020). Primarily worked as a French translator, translating current resources such as multiple site brochures, relevant historical information on the websites, and the cell phone guided tours of both plantations (voice-recorded). I helped translate old documents for colleagues’s projects as well as personally curating multiple tours at the two sites, and on rare occasions, orally translated tours for French-speaking visitors.Intern in Resource Management at the collection facility for a 400 hour internship (Nov 2021-March 2022)Primarily worked in historic object collections from the two major sites, insuring proper treatment, identifying, and cataloging of objects, as well as their storage in the facility. I had a special focus of cataloging French colonial and creole artifacts.
