As the Ink Technician I am responsible for creating solvent based ink formulas for flexographic priniting and making ink for the upcoming jobs on the presses. My goal is to formulate all inks under a Delta-E of one or as close as possible. I am responsible for toning inks on the presses as needed. I am in charge of all ink inventory as well as running a solvent recycling unit. I am familiar with X-rite. I am also able to work off inks into other colors to help keep cost down for the company and minimize my inventory. I use the NovaFlow ink dispenser to dispense finished inks and store ink formulas. Lastly I maintain the cleanliness and organization of both the ink lab and ink storage room. I also work with multiple different ink series such as regular surface print, reverse print lamination, fade resistant inks, high heat inks, etc.

As a lead I was responsible for maintaining the machine and keeping both sides running at the same time I also supervised two tender who packaged the finished goods. I made sure both tender had all the materials they needed for the night. Once production was finished for the day I was responsible for cleaning UV printers and shutting down the machine and ensuring all paperwork was finished and ready for the following day.
