Work included implementation of complex business rules to support provider participation/non-participation determination to understand which providers were in-network for a member executing a search. • Pioneered approach of using HIPAA 271 eligibility and benefits data in conjunction with negotiated cost data from insurance claim extracts to calculate members’ out-of-pocket cost for a given procedure/provider combination. This approach is powering a new in-house cost engine that is slated to eventually replace the current integration with legacy Aetna pricing services.
