For nearly 15 years I have freelanced out my work and now run under the Commotion Designs moniker. Our services include everything from motion graphics to print and even presentation design. I enjoy having the flexibility to do more creative projects, such as logos and branding, flyer design, a favorite of mine growing up, and so much more. I keep a staff of 3-5 rotating artists under me and despite very little marketing I have been able to keep Commotion busy for a long long time. I have experience a lot running this business, and I know it has prepared me for working as a high-level design creative for virtually any segment out there.

Several years ago I met Vickie Elmer, who was creating MINT Detroit, a place to help foster and develop teen artists from the city. I loved the idea of the project and jumped on immediately. In my role here I serve as a mentor to the teens in the group, as well as consulting on marketing practices, and of course design work. These pieces include OLA collateral, web-page development, print pieces, and video work.

In this role I wore many hats. Expected to be an expert visual communicator, technology trainer, presentation guru, and so much more. As a result of consistent high performance specifically in video production, and implementing multiple new technologies and ideas, I won the North Star Award for exceptional performance. Responsibilities include: OLA, multimedia campaigns, branding, print design (shirts, brochures, etc.), B2B and B2C sales presentations, video and photo content. I also specialize in concept and creation of motion graphics video and marketing collateral, combining photography, videography, and animation. Also part of pilot native marketing team. Clients include: Greektown, Ford, Flagstar, Detroit Free Press, The Detroit News, Detroit Tigers, Forgotten Harvest, Univ. of Michigan, Cadillac, etc.

As a Sony Imaging Expert and marketing rep I was charged with many tasks. I had to be a extremely versed on all things Sony, as well as able to teach and communicate my knowledge to various people. I managed my own route which spanned the entire lower peninsula of Michigan and Toledo, Ohio. I was also doing technical customer service, as well as merchandising Sony products while working at bds.
