Nicholas Patz is a career environmental and waste management consultant with experience conducting and managing environmental assessment and remediation projects as well as waste management and waste to energy programs. Much of his expertise lies in his unique ability to manage personnel from multiple professional scientific and labor disciplines and a wide range of personalities to complete projects above expectations, on time, and within the client’s budget constraints.In 2018 he joined the effort to support and develop the Honduras Transoceanic project to link by rail the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. His responsibilities with the C3 International were in aiding the production of business plans, designing env. protections for biological resources, and introducing waste management concepts to insure the environmental sustainability.From 1991 – 2012 he was CEO of Ceres Associates, a consulting firm that operated in the USA conducting environmental assessment and remediation. In 1999, the company expanded operations, services, and geography as it opened operations in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Ceres reformed the emirate’s waste management system by remedying the seaside dump, writing environmental regulations, designing a proper waste pickup system, constructing and operating a materials recycling facility, and sighting, constructing and operating the first landfill in the Middle East with proper environmental controls. In 2003 he accepted a position as vice president of a technology company that had developed a unique pyrolytic gasification waste elimination system, capable of producing fuel oils as well electricity. In marketing the system, Mr. Patz travelled to Hawaii, Mexico, Ecuador, UAE, and China. In Ecuador he gave a presentation to 800 engineering students, local business people, and politicians, that was the initial introduction of waste to energy technology in South America. For his efforts he was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from the university.
