I have responsibility for developing the business and marketing strategy and for growing the sales of this business in Europe, working closely with my North American colleagues to ensure global consistency. During most of this period, I have also had direct sales responsibility for two key accounts.Key achievements: • Working with the Fabric & Home Care team to grow the European business from $11m revenue in 2003 to over $22m in 2007 by targeting a limited number of application areas where we have competitive advantage and where our value proposition is most closely aligned with that of our customers.• Successfully focused the business onto large scale projects such as developing polymers for zero phosphate dishwashing applications at major customers.• Growing our business at our largest customer by 70% to almost $10m in 2007.

I was responsible for a team of three sales and technical service professionals and a highly profitable $12m business covering the flavour and fragrance houses as well as the fragrance encapsulation business.

I was promoted to be the regional sales manager for Northern Europe, responsible for $40m sales, with four sales professionals reporting to me. I retained my role as key account manager for 3 of our largest accounts. I was also asked to lead the team responsible for developing and implementing the European food starch e-commerce strategy, and project managed the construction of an extra-net to provide easy access to specified data for key customers and distributors.

I joined the organisation as key account manager for our largest account in Europe. Key achievements: • Doubling the size of this business within three years.• Managing the development and successful introduction of a starch for gelatine replacement (a multi-year deal worth £20m).

Sales to UK pharmaceutical industry.

I was responsible for the integrity and development of the Global Sales statistics systems of the Ingredients Division. There were 30 units worldwide, some recently acquired and not, at that time, fully integrated, selling a wide range of products. It was my role, to continue the development of and then to encourage compliance with a standardised reporting system.Key Achievements:• Design & world-wide implementation of a new management reporting system necessitated by a switch of focus from Quest product ranges to the industries that bought them.• Introduction of systems that led to reduction in coding errors from 25% to 4%.• Learning Dutch.
