Worked as part of the National Security & C4I Division of Thales Australia as a Network Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME). Responsible for significant design updates relating to the SEA 1442 Phase 3 Project. The 1442 project was focused around enhancing the Royal Australian Navy's communications capability to support the Australian Defence Force's (ADFs) Network Centric Warfare (NCW) concept. Phase 3 provided a significant modernisation of the Navy's Wide Area Network (WAN) capability through the creation of a Maritime Tactical WAN (MTWAN). This project provided packet based WAN connectivity for existing shipboard LAN security enclaves, and used line-of-sight and beyond-line-of-sight communications bearers such as MILSATCOM and INMARSAT.Responsibilities:• Writing of technical design documentation• Presentation of network designs to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel• In depth routing design and architecture (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)• In depth scalable encrypted WAN design and architecture (IPsec, mGRE, DMVPN)
