Meat Detroit was an experimental SaaS startup launched at the start of the Covid pandemic to turn small locally-owned farms and meat/produce stores into a virtual farmer’s market for greater Detroit. Identified opportunity during Covid to provide farms and small businesses with a D2C sales platform to overcome disrupted supply chains. ● Recruited two members of core leadership team to join project by communicating mission and passion for serving the community. ● Identified an overseas white-label web app vendor, implemented solution, and made customizations and integrations with APIs, Stripe for payment processing, and Google Maps for route optimization. ● Selected a third-party branded mobile app able to accept and track orders for delivery. ● Recruited local vendors for beta testing prior to potential expansion beyond Detroit.
