Band In A Bus aims to bus the performing arts to communities in need.We find that music plays a big part inside, and outside of the band room. On average students who participate in music related programs score higher on standardized tests and develop positive social emotional skills that can point them towards a more creative future.By providing musical instruments, performing arts curriculum, and staffing--we hope to offer a hip, modernized band classroom experience that will bridge the performing arts gap facing youth in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region.Our long-term mission is to develop a fleet of mobile classrooms that can drive out to communities in need. But for now, Band in A Bus offers the following programs to local schools and community organizations:🥁Strums & Drums (K-6/Teens/Families)🎶A ‘jam circle’ style class guiding students through the basics of making music. We provide the Ukes, Guitars, Drums and show participants how to make some noise. This program is designed to develop relationship building, communication and social-emotional skills.🚌Kid’s Band (Families/K-6)🎺A stepping-stone program focused on sound & movement. We provide the instruments and guide participants through playing a popular song while learning how to play together. Lead a non-profit youth music program down a sustainable path—while helping them cut through the noise of a crowded youth arts scene. MRC provides in-studio music classes and recording arts outreach programs to over 200+ teens a year. By remixing the MRC story, and working side-by-side with its staff, we have netted $100k+ in equipment/cash donations this year as well as building up its membership pipeline by 20% YOY. Cowabunga! Additional responsibilities include managing partnerships/content on long-term projects with: Cincinnati Public Schools, The Country Music Association and The City Of Cincinnati. Other successes include: improving MRC’s brand image in the community, doubling its volunteer pool and hitting a windfall of sustainable programming goals.

Drafted posts, edited content calendars and executed a '12 Days Of Snapmas' giveaway alongside the dooley team, earning the brand its highest social engagement numbers ever. Devoured copious amounts of pizza--for research purposes...Other social clients during this time included: Penn Station East Coast Subs, M Wood Fired Pizza Kitchen and Ash American Fare.

Worked alongside LPK’s verbal team writing effective copy, mapping verbal strategies and “nailing” product names for a diverse clientele. Blogging and preparing a company wide presentation also came with the job--every day was an adventure.

Produced content ranging from news blurbs to feature articles for an online music radio station. Additional responsibilities included research and promotion of ACRN related activities through social media.

Working with Ad club was like taking a class in underwater basket weaving. From the first plunge with the creative brief, each and every dive led to new insights and understandings until we came up for air with a finished product. Showing off our work led to a 2nd place finish in AAF's NSAC 2013 competition.

Developed business plans and dreamt up creative executions to attract clientele for a start-up music business.

I interacted and cultivated a vast array of experiences as a teacher, performer, collaborator, friend, storyteller, and general troublemaker. But the most important thing that came out of being a part of this University is learning that you never stop being a student.
