Also oversees a team of content creators and work with them to develop and distribute content that resonates with the club's target audience. - Advocacy: Promote mental health education and awareness on campus. Work to promote resources that assist students who may be experiencing mental health issues and to increase awareness of mental health problems.- Event planning and coordination: In charge of organising and coordinating activities and events that support student wellbeing and mental health. The members can connect and support one another through workshops, events with special guests, and social gatherings.- Liaison with campus resources: Acting as a point of contact for departments like student affairs, the counselling centre, and health services. Strive to establish connections with these services and work together on projects that promote students' mental health.

It's an honour to have received the opportunity to be a part of this amazing project dubbed 'Project Thrive!' run by the Shamiri Institute. The project is aimed at delivering mental health and wellness interventions to high school students. Having gone through the public school system here in Kenya for the better part of my education, I understand the weight of mental health challenges in the system and how there's very little access to interventions of any nature to the students. Shamiri means “thrive” in Kiswahili. Since its founding in 2018, Shamiri has worked with more than 7,500 youths in secondary schools across Kenya. Responsibilities:• Led group based Thrive! Sessions to deliver Shamiri Psychological Interventions such as growth, gratitude and value affirmations to underprivileged high school students in Kiambu and Nairobi.• Led groups of at least 10 students, in 5 schools on a weekly basis helping the young people experience a 40% improvement in mental health and wellbeing, a 14% improvement in social relations, and a 3% improvement in academic grades.
