As the first Entrepreneur in Residence at the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center (PABC) I am excited and committed to providing mentorship, leadership, and strategic advice to burgeoning life science companies. I am currently advising five spinout companies from the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute—Cirna, Merlin, Harligene, Pentravalent, and Rimmsting. Additionally, I am offering guidance to 10 companies that received grants from the PABC’s Academic Innovation Zone (AIZ) program, which manages a substantial budget from Pennsylvania's federal Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Funds to support early-stage life science companies and academic technologies.The Entrepreneur in Residence role involves offering critical insights on strategy, fundraising, product development, and identifying new investment opportunities for both the companies as well as the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center.

I co-founded Topaz Pharmaceuticals Inc. in 2004. As CEO and President for six years and a Member of the Board throughout. I led the company from start-up through three major rounds of funding and drove significant value growth. This resulted in a successful exit by an acquisition by Sanofi Pasteur in October 2011 in a deal worth over $200 million.

Built new initiatives for new ways of selling biological (vaccines) products directly to pediatricians and family physician offices. Specifically, I launched a new website with an associated telesales organization, MerckVaccines.com, which transacted over $300 million in revenue. Led multiple collaborative cross-functional teams and committees. Led the pre-planning team for the launch of Gardasil in the USA. Gardasil became a billion-dollar blockbuster.

Led new team for Merck’s largest global vaccine brand (M-M-R ®II) - a $330 million franchise which I grew by 10%

Led consumer animal health group Heartgard, Eqvalan, Enacard. First Rx advertising on TV with 'Lassie'! Increased the total business of the Companion animal group by 300%.

Set up marketing operation in UK and Ireland and eventually led EEC marketing initiatives. Spent eleven months in NZ and Australia as an 'internal' consultant.
