Shortly after joining Kickstarter, I was tasked with building Drip​. ​​Drip was designed to allow creators to fund their creative practice through the ongoing support of people who love their work.My initial responsibilities included market research, product planning, and hiring the Drip team.As Drip developed, I lead the Drip team and oversaw all strategy, product development, growth, and execution of the business.

DotEleven provides customer analytics to retail stores. Using MAC address scanning technology, we identify customer behaviour metrics including footfall, visit frequency, and internal zone flow.A cloud based dashboard delivers metrics and tools that enable store managers to optimize time in store, increase basket size, and minimize queue times.I was responsible for developing the sensor technology on top of commodity WiFi hardware, as well as the development of the analytics and insights engine.

Travel With Lia is a technology business disrupting the corporate travel industry. We bring a consumer focused, online approach to a traditionally offline sector. I was responsible for the business strategy, product development, and execution of the Lia business, managing a rapidly growing team of 25.

The go! Travel South Africa app launched in 2012 and established itself as a one-stop resource for travelling in South Africa. The app was a runner up in the MTN App of the Year Awards and ranked as the top travel iPad app in the South African app store for over six months.I was responsible for business development on the go! Travel App. This involved looking for opportunities to generate income, partnering with relevant businesses and then ensuring that the commercial opportunities were realised in the app.

I joined the WinDeed division of Korbitec straight out of university to kick start their consumer products unit.Our first product, PropIQ allowed consumers to generate property reports which included property valuations and the sales history for a particular property.Our second product, Company Alert monitored CIPC for changes to company information and alerted a user of any changes to their company.In my position, I was responsible for business development, wireframing of new products, outsourcing of design, working with our development team to bring the products to life. After launching the products, I was responsible for the running and optimization of the SEM campaigns.

TravelGround.com is an online accommodation booking portal, which started with the aim of providing a Google-like, keyword-based search for accommodation in South Africa.We built up a comprehensive database of local B&Bs and Guesthouses by focusing on streamlining the complex on-boarding process - allowing us to quickly expand our coverage of South Africa.After launching the website, we realised that our keyword-based search was too complex for users to understand and so simplified the offering significantly and focused on optimizing our user acquisition channels. This approach worked well and TravelGround rapidly grew market share.At TravelGround I was involved in business strategy, product development and web-development. I left the company in 2010 to complete my final year of university.TravelGround (and its Afrikaans subsidiary, LekkeSlaap) now has over 70 employees and has won numerous e-Commerce awards.

Synchronic was started with two friends during our second last year in high school. Originally formed in order to allow us to get access to cheaper gaming equipment, we soon started taking orders for friends and small businesses. One of our early clients, Orbis Security (acquired by Securitas), entered a stage of rapid growth and Synchronic became the technical solutions provider for their business. Synchronic managed the servers and network for over 40 employees at Orbis' Head Office, as well as numerous satellite offices which required full access to the various network services.
