I worked with the Research Management Group (RMG). RMG serves as the central resource and expert partner on research administration providing support and oversight of sponsored projects. RMG represents Stanford University as the institutional official for proposal submission and award acceptance. As a Manager, I built multi-million dollar budgets, met deadlines, and supported principal investigators and their department staff during proposal preparation and post-award activities. I ensured every project was compliant with federal regulations, sponsor requirements, and University policies. Before I was promoted to a Manager, as an Associate, I provided specialized customer service to a diverse team of Finance Managers and their department staff to process hundreds of sponsored projects from beginning to end. I reviewed the proposal and award budgets, analyzed terms and conditions, processed pre and post-award transactions in institutional and government databases, and generated reports. In November 2014, I was promoted to the Manager role.

At San Jose State University (SJSU), the College of Science offers a course called Science 2 and Science 90T. The course emphasizes on development of study skills, time management, and personal growth needed to transition from high school/junior college to university. As a Peer Advisor and Teaching Assistant, I mentored incoming freshmen and transfer students regarding SJSU policies and procedures; and degree and career options. I also assisted Instructors with a variety of administrative responsibilities (e.g., student grading, project management, PowerPoint presentations). I was also the point of contact in the recruitment of future Peer Advisors.
