I enjoy spotting an aspect of how the world (and/or humanity) works, something we generally miss or take for granted, and exploiting that either directly or by persuading others of the opportunity.I've had some very nice toys to play with in two decades of tinkering with the marketing mix, and the largest P&L I was trusted with was USD260 Million and loss making when I inherited it, and over USD560 Million and double digit profitable when I gave it back. I love numbers, and not just as a way of keeping score.I spent 6 years running my own company and helping a stable of clients navigate digital disruption as the walls between sectors serving the smart home began to fall. My biggest client made me an offer I couldn't refuse.I am just over 1 year into the current mission, which is to reinvigorate and boost Euromonitor's research processes, services and technologies aimed at the Home & Garden industry. I am building a team of enthusiastic specialists, restructuring core processes with new technologies, creating new forms of insight and new value for both retailers and brands in the sector, and getting that value in front of the right audience as fast as possible.Better and more timely data means better decisions and more warning.Few things matter more in business than that, right now.
