I hung out on the air with alumni of the oldest internship in America and with our team are creating an immersive podcast network! Through promoting alumni businesses on the air, we have established a place for some of the hardest working, most fun-loving people in the world to share stories, successes, and cool things to do (Bizzler! 👀) When I got the call from Andres with the idea, we never knew how far we'd come. With our teammates Naomi Kaufman and Heather Dutton, we put together experiences across multiple mediums from audio and video of interviews to networking events in Mexico. I entered the world of life insurance during the height of the COVID pandemic and sold whole life policies over the phone. While performing individual sales, I recognized my agency's need to upgrade their hiring and training efforts. I created a campaign through Indeed and networking through existing agents to hire four new rockstars. Pulling from prior sales experience, I was able to train them within a week of hiring to be off to the races. Each agent had very successful starts and one even broke the company record in her first week on the phones. Other duties involved streamlining data collection on agents across the nation and providing intervention-based training to agents who were underperforming. Having systems in place led to reliable results and I left the company better than how I found it. I re-entered the world of sustainability from this job, and have gone back to visit two years later to find many of my systems still in place and the company having grown from the work I'd put in while there.

I was implementing my degree competencies hands-on, drawing out plans for residential solar installations by hand, creating production guarantee numbers for clients then getting on-property to lead the installation itself. There are many solar companies out there that are bigger and more successful, and delegate responsibilities out as a result. This was a two-man operation between me and an old professor from my Sustainable Energy Degree and we'd hire on contractors to help with physical labor. This forced me to maintain all material relationships with manufacturers and keep many moving parts in a specific order to meet deadlines and exceed customer expectations.

This job taught me how to make life count through focusing on only what I can control, rather than circumstance. This 160 year old company is truly a family of self-motivated, life-changing, caring individuals. I wouldn't be the person I am today without this experience.Throughout the school year, I recruited and trained new interns while I attended leadership seminars across the country including such locations as Nashville, Kansas City, Chicago, Denver, Jacksonville, and more. During the summer, I led an organization of First Year interns by example and was responsible in my last year for over 20 sales people.

I contacted graduates of, and those connected to, Creighton's multiple schools and colleges, asking them to generously give back to the University.

I developed the work spaces and even curriculum of the Program by partaking in collective boardrooms every day for an entire week. I cleaned out the Pittman Building, where E-Tech is housed, installing lights and solar panels, all while taking a class on Photo Voltaics.
