I designed and developed the Ledenbeheer.be platform from scratch, and was the sole developer for the first two years of the start of the project. Ledenbeheer has since grown into a successful startup, with 4 full-time employees, over 150 000 users and a strong growth trajectory.Current project work for Ledenbeheer includes a ticket sales, seating planner and BI module, and is mostly focused on designing intuitive interfaces, quick and efficient reports using SQL, as well as PHP development.

I oversee the company's System and IT departments, which form part of the shared services within the WastePlan group of companies. WastePlan is one of the largest waste management companies in South Africa and has a global footprint, with over 2400 employees and 900 clients. We operate 4 Material Recovery Facilities in South Africa, and process over 24 000 tons of material each month.My focus is primarily on development of in-house operational and financial management applications and integrations with 3rd party software like Pastel Evolution or Webfleet, as well as Business Intelligence, risk management, expenditure, and reviewing and implementing of new processes to streamline operations or achieve automations using AI tools. The tech stack used for most of the applications is PHP, heavily reliant on SQL for reporting purposes and Javascript for client-side and mobile applications. We are hosted on AWS with 100% uptime, with various client-side applications connecting to a central AWS back-end.I lead a national team of 15 people with 4 direct reports, and boast stellar departmental service ratings of 95% or more for the last 2 years. I received an innovation award for my work at WastePlan.

FWD is the company entity I use to take on additional projects in my spare time, usually centered around analyzing and optimizing specific business processes through implementation of software.Its services are not advertised and projects come in sporadically, but it allows me to learn new business processes, network with various people, and advise and implement solutions aimed at more efficient and structured processes.Some of the clients I worked with are Tru-Cape Fruit Marketing (Johan Venter, Nicky Beck and Henk Griessel), Two-a-day (Erhard Eiselen and Chris Petzer), and Casart Game Lodge (Sonia de Busschere).
