Nick is an independent company director working primarily in financial services and voluntary sectors. In a career span of over 40 years, Nick has worked in industry, management consulting and professional services. He is currently Chairman of ART Business Loans, a Community Development Finance Institution lending across the West Midlands.Born in Baghdad, Nick was educated in Beirut and UK. He holds a BSc in Chemistry (London), PhD (Aston) and MBA (Aston Business School). He is a former Director of Birmingham Forward and was Founder Chairman of Birmingham Future.Active in Third Sector affairs, Nick took part in Birmingham Common Purpose 1991. Since then, he has been involved with many charities/voluntary sector organisations including St Basils where he has chaired the Fundraising Committee for over 15 years. He sits on the Prince’s Trust WM Development Committee and has been closely involved with a number of youth and educational charities. He is a former Director of the School for Social Entrepreneurs and served for 10 years as a Governor of Bromsgrove School.Nick is Founder and Co-Chairman of Thrive, Birmingham’s CSR network.In 2007, Nick received Birmingham Future's "Inspiring Leader" Award and was listed in The Birmingham Post's "Power50" of those most likely to influence the future of the city ....and again in 2016.
