I’ve worked in privately owned small and large companies, FTSE top 100 and the public sector. I enjoyed senior marketing roles within Marriott Hotels, David Lloyd Leisure (Whitbread) and Sport England, before leading the creative team at international marketing services firm, Grass Roots. For the past 10 plus years I have run my own marketing consultancy, coaching and training business. I’ve been a course director with Cambridge Marketing College for over fifteen years, written a handbook on Internal Communications, various marketing study guides and I also lecture in marketing and facilitate on the Help to Grow programme at Oxford Brookes Business School. Throughout my career, I have been honoured, privileged and educated by lots of brilliant leaders, trainers and coaches, each of whom has taught me something new.Today, nothing makes me happier that passing on my knowledge and experience of leadership, marketing and communications to whoever I'm fortunate enough be in a room with (virtual or otherwise!). I particularly enjoy working with those at the start of their career and giving them a helping hand to make it to the next rung of the ladder. Fortunately I appear to be pretty good at doing this - at least that's what many kind people with whom I've worked with, tell me. One thing is for sure: I've found that the experience of running my own business has enabled me to be the best version of myself. Away from work, I’ve just stepped down as Chairman from my local cricket club after 4 years of helping the club navigate through the Covid pandemic, I still play for the fourth XI when they will have me and I love spending time in the fresh air with family and friends – preferably when the sun is shining.
