My love for music and entertainment started as far back as I can remember. At the age of 10 I sat behind a drum kit and was eager to pick it up quickly. Fully driven and focused, I obsessed over many inspiring bands of the 90s and found my own way performing with others. I picked up the guitar next and was self-taught by the age of 16.By the time I was 19, I joined a band that all had the same goal in mind. We were quickly discovered by Fearless Records and signed a deal with Bob Becker that year. Our group would go on to tour non-stop (2005-2008) on successful runs and released three records. I worked side-by-side with our producers Matt Squire and Matt Hyde soaking up a ton of their knowledge in production and songwriting.During my time in this band, I realized that I had a massive interest in the behind the scenes within the industry. I took it upon myself to be in day-to-day contact with our label, agent, management, etc. After a solid run with that band and gaining a ton of first hand experience (touring is the best college for this industry in my opinion..) I would ask our booking agent at the time (Ash Avildsen) and his team to have any part working for his brand new record label, Sumerian Records. I traveled to Los Angeles in 2008 with the clothes on my back and slept on Ash's couch, soaking up all of the knowledge and inner workings of his company. Eager to prove myself, I hit the road once again to cut my teeth for two years tour managing and helping develop some of Sumerian's young, flagship bands from the road and would report back daily. I moved to Los Angeles in 2010 and became employed by Sumerian officially as a Junior A&R and would jump into social media marketing and branding for the label.Approaching 12 years and currently Sumerian's A&R and Executive Operations, I have had the honor of working alongside the most talented and ground-breaking artists of our time. Helping mentor, develop, produce and strategize releases with our artists/teams and learning daily by trial and error is something that keeps me up at night and gets me up every morning.When times get rough in this industry, which is quite often, remember your backstory and the love for music that brought you here in the first place.
