As a Managing Consultant, I lead a team of consultants in the business design and definition of business requirements for the Department of Veteran's Affair's major organisational and service delivery transformation. This included various coordination activities with Services Australia (previously the Department of Human Services) to support the timely definition of DVA's requirements to inform the technology solutions being delivered on their behalf through the WPIT Program.

In this role, I performed a range of valued services to my clients including (but not limited to):- The coordination and management of various PMOs.- Development and implementation of Program and project management frameworks.- Delivery of pre-acquisition services such as business case development, feasibility studies and cost modelling.- Design and development of business processes related to major technology transformations.Clients included:- Department of Defence- Australian Federal Police- Department of Home Affairs

The PMO provides information to the AFP Executive to help make balanced and informed strategic investment decisions and support business areas to plan and deliver their programs and projects to achieve AFP strategic objectives. The PMO supports project and program management teams with guidance on project planning, delivery and governance; project approval (through the Strategic Investment Committee and the Finance Committee); and reporting requirements.Responsibilities included:- Lead the PMO team in delivering services to the Strategic Investment Committee. - Managed and lead a team of up to six staff, including day-to-day management and performance management to support Team and Organisational goals. - Supported the Coordinator on integrating portfolio management with organisational capability and strategic planning, including engagement with stakeholders on internal and external emerging issues, environmental scans and policy futures. - Supported the Coordinator on development and incremental implementation of AFP Benefits Management Framework, including integration with AFP performance management framework. - Provided advice and assistance to project, program and procurement managers regarding Benefits Management.- Lead the progress of deliverables within the AFP’s Portfolio Management Capability Improvement Plan.- Lead the Project and Program Management (P3M3) maturity processes.- Provided high level advice to senior managers and business sponsors on a range of PMO issues.

Emergency Management Australia, Crisis Support Branch, Program Management Section- Managed established projects within the Program Management Section, including an ongoing role in the development, operations and exercising of the Crisis Coordination Centre (CCC).- Managed the development of project and procurement plans and associated documentation for new programs/projects assigned to the Section. - Ensured compliance with financial, risk management and procurement guidelines in all procurement processes.- Undertook budget planning and monitored and approved budget expenditure.- Supported Program Management Section staff to ensure all project deadlines were met.- Prepared and delivered various communications (briefs, reports, oral presentations) in relation to all aspects of the projects being delivered. - Managed the development of a CCC contingency facility and corresponding policies and procedures.- Coordinated the project’s compliance with the Department of Finance and Deregulation’s Gateway Review process.- Facilitated and coordinated Project Control Groups, Advisory Committees and other stakeholder engagement activities.- Supervised staff and directed work as required.

Emergency Management Australia, Crisis Support Branch, Special Projects Section- Managed the development of a Coordination Centre contingency facility and corresponding policies and procedures.- Developed project planning and implementation documentation in accordance with departmental project management guidelines.- Coordinated the project’s compliance with the Department of Finance and Deregulation’s Gateway Review process.- Ensured compliance with financial and procurement guidelines for the delivery of the Coordination Centre project.- Facilitated and coordinated Project Control Groups, Advisory Committees and other stakeholder engagement activities.- Drafted and coordinated reporting to Program Governance Committees on project milestones, budget, risks and issues.- Maintained risk, issue and quality logs.

National Security Law and Policy Division, National Security Policy Branch Countering Violent Extremism Taskforce- Provided policy options and advice on a range of national security issues.- Developed and coordinate communications project with Victoria Police, Victoria Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Australian Multicultural Foundation on a new whole-of-government strategy to counter terrorism.- Developed project materials including budget logs, funding agreements, legal agreements and regular project updates. - Liaised with jurisdictional stakeholders on key communications matters.
