My work involved internal IT support for Paylocity. We would work through both a ticket queue as well as a call queue.This would involve things basic, like assisting end users with how-to's or general IT questions to more advanced support like installations and in-depth troubleshooting.I would also contribute to creating new guides for both other technicians as well as our end users, whether for how to utilize software or how to repair certain issues themselves.

My position involves working with a ticket system to provide desktop support to users on campus, including troubleshooting/replacing damaged equipment, equipment installation around our open seating areas, and troubleshooting and installing software, either remotely or in person. In addition, I make certain we have enough imaged machines and equipment available for deployment or replacements as needed. This includes configuring and deploying new hire laptops as well as run a weekly class to get new users setup for remote work. Occasionally work with management to create or update procedures.

This position involves gathering meeting information for my team to provide AV support from our ticket system. This requires me to reach out to the meeting organizers or admin to confirm the time and dates for meetings as well as what may be necessary for the event. I update my teams calendar and assign technicians to the events, which could involve providing assistance for setting up a small Webex meeting, large scale Skype streams, or smaller conferences. In addition, I take stock of perishable inventory for like video/audio cables or adapters, and place orders when we are low. If necessary, I would preset or strike equipment for morning or evening events respectively.

Provided meeting support for clients on campus, including basic AV setups in conference rooms, connecting Webex meetings using in-room systems, and setting up and running live streams. Outside of that, I performed preventative maintenance checks, involving testing our conference and huddle rooms AV equipment then repairing or replacing equipment as needed.

This position required me to float between receiving and asset barcoding a variety of audio and video equipment from vendors, picking and packing orders, or putting together shipments via UPS. I also took on the responsibility of keeping track of our perishable equipment (boxes, packing tape, various warning stickers) and putting in requests for more if we were low.

Provided assistance to PSAV technicians in various hotels and venues around the Chicagoland area. These ranged from hotels with small meeting rooms to setting up large ballrooms. This involved setting up fast-fold screens, projectors, audio systems, and running cables safely around the venue. Would occasionally assist kicking off meetings and events.

Over the almost 4 years I worked with this band, I had 4 titles. I started as a general AV technician, helping to get equipment setup for the band. This was mostly basic work, moving equipment on or off stage, setting up PA systems and so on. Next I started to work with our drum technician. I would setup and sound check the drums as well as keep an eye on our drummer. With this I occasionally helped or stood in for our guitar tech, tuning or sound checking those instruments as well. Eventually I moved to assisting our lighting director as the setup grew in size. I would help him set up a variety of equipment from moving head lights and LEDs to lasers. This would include running power and wiring via DMX. I occasionally ran lighting whenever he needed me to cover for him. Finally I took over running our video walls. This involves setting them up and playing back our content. All of our content went in time with the performance, so I would need to focus on making sure it started and stayed in time. I also created content for some of the songs the band performed.The band performed in a variety of places, from small bars to large festivals and even on television.
