As an experienced senior manager in health and social care, I had extensive engagement with the interface between the two cultures. I am good at bringing people together to achieve results with enthusiasm and leaving a positive legacy. After 15 years delivering high profile projects I have taken a step back to focus on my academic interests. I am actively involved in supporting social work students and preparing for professional practice.I completed my thesis in 2017 which looked at the implementation of personalisation and street-level bureaucracy, and am now looking to put this to good use either in developing my career through professional teaching or research. I have recently completed my HEA associate based on delivering the post grad award in social work at the OU. I have particularly enjoyed refreshing my initial Children and Families knowledge from my social worker days, now offering a wider perspective of social work.I describe myself as being in my third career in social work, content that I have completed my time as a manager. I am not looking for interim roles and will not accept contacts from agents I do not know. Sorry.That’s the sensible bit! I have been passionate about old vehicles for years and have had my elderly Austin Seven for 25 years. The old girl did not want to stop there, in fact she did not want to stop at all! So I got into the manufacturing world, commissioning a batch of brake drums. Mad, maybe... but its nice to do something different.
