I work with a team on a set of microservices with an Angular front-end which enables licensing of software for SAS. Being a software developer feels impactful to me because I want to enable my company and the world to the make use of the bleeding edge of software to achieve our goals. I aim to build solutions that are secure to assure our users that their data is safe. I previously worked as a Quality Assurance Tester, so, I strive for test-driven development. Additionally, I want to construct solutions with performance in mind so that they are scalable.NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS:★ Maintained a set of Java microservices running on spring framework for 5 years★ Implemented and maintained software release/hotfix tooling for a set of microservices★ Migrated business logic from legacy application/code to enable modernization (C + SCL)★ Ensured application security through security analysis as the Security Lead for my team★ Constructed an automated testing framework in NodeJS★ Validated transfer of over 1 million users between two SSO apps★ Updated and maintained Java regression suite up to 400+ testsRESEARCH:In 2017, I did undergraduate research under Dr. Collin Lynch to determine if the software containerization platform, Docker, could be used to make deployments easier in a shared environment with changing dependencies. I would consider this research to be one of the most valuable courses I’ve had in my undergraduate career. As I look towards graduate school, I want to gain more research experience in topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Distributed Systems, and Security.
