Founder, Investor-Director & Former CEO of AngamaSince opening her first hotel in 1982, Nicky has conceptualized, built, operated, and marketed 62 properties across sub-Saharan Africa and India. Her portfolio includes a beach and city hotel, a property in the Cape Winelands, seven restaurants, and 55 safari lodges and camps. With deep experience in managing world-class lodges in remote locations—spanning South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, and India—Nicky has trained over 4,500 staff from surrounding communities.Nicky spent 15 years as Director of Operations and then Marketing VP at &Beyond, Africa and India’s leading luxury adventure travel company. She also spent three years as a hospitality consultant, exploring opportunities in Latin America before co-founding Angama with her husband, Steve, in 2014. After his unexpected passing in 2017, Nicky stepped in as CEO.She has transformed the way luxury adventure travel is marketed, building a global network of travel partners while expanding Angama’s reach through Angama Travel. After guiding the company through the pandemic and launching Angama Safari Camp and Angama Amboseli, Nicky stepped down as CEO on 30 September 2024. She remains a significant investor and non-executive director on Angama’s board.
