Dedicated to ensuring good health, safety and wellbeing processes and procedures are in place for all workers and assisting organisations to implement health, safety and wellbeing strategies and frameworks to ensure they understand their health and safety responsibilities. Working in a cooperative organisation for a number of years, as opposed to a corporate, has sharpened by skills as an influencer and built on my strengths of communication and collaboration. I have played an integral part in moving an organisation from a largely paper-based health and safety management system to a fully digitalised system. This project also tapped into my communication skills having to ‘sell’ the new system to a network of stores, as well as creating a communications plan and learning material to support both the promotion of the new system and how to use the various modules it contains. I have been responsible for writing various policy and procedure documents including comprehensive Delivery Vehicle Guidelines, Lone Worker Guidelines and Forklift Safety Guidelines. I am Secretary of the Waikato Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM) and also hold a Professional Membership with this organisation. I have had governance experience with school Board of Trustees, having held the position of Chairperson at both a primary and secondary school. I am passionate about helping people and have a particular interest in their wellbeing. I have been a finalist in the Specialist of the Year category of the Head Fit Awards in 2021, finalist in the Mental Health Champion category of the Safeguard Awards in 2022 and Winner of the Headfit Awards Specialist of the Year 2022. NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. Professional Member of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (ProfNZISM)HASANZ Registered (Health and Safety Association of New Zealand).
