I’ve been communicating important issues for two decades. I know the right stories can change the world. But all too often unhelpful stories dominate and distract.Having led communications for household name NGOs, I now advise broadcasters, public figures and organisations. My role is brilliantly varied and highly collaborative. I research effective ways to communicate different issues and I make sure the right stories are heard and spread.Over the last few years I've:- Advised broadcasters and the Royal Foundation on how to talk about the climate crisis- Led research, training and consultancy to inspire more effective communications practice across different issues- Spearheaded Joseph Rowntree Foundation's award-winning Talking about Poverty project, working closely with the UK poverty sector to shift the national conversation about poverty in the UK- Authored numerous communications research reports and resources- Written occasional articles for the Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/profile/nicky-hawkinsI bring energy, passion and creativity to all my work.
